What is a BaseCamp at the RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA?

RACA BaseCamps are sports centres and schools with multi-purpose rooms where our team is waiting for you. Shower and toilet facilities are provided. They are furnished in a minimalist style and also serve as checkpoint/check-in/gates.

You can leave one of your drop bags, which you will hand in at the start, here. We will then transport it to the finish. The "RACA 20lDropBags" will be provided by the organiser. Always 1 DropBag per person for the respective BaseCamp.

There will be a maximum of 30 airbeds in the multi-purpose rooms for resting, sleeping and power naps. But there is plenty of space. Reservations are not possible!

A small refreshment centre with sports drinks, water, hot/cold, tea/coffee and soup and snacks is available at each base camp.

If you want to sleep properly, we recommend you book a room in the area. See the accommodation link in the timetable.

What is the difference between

Adventure Starting Block

and Start Block Race?

The only difference is the start time and the time limit.

It has no effect on the rules and results.

Please always check the finish times for each event.

There will only be individual starts. RACA minute start! No mass start!

Which liability, death, accident and health insurance do you mean?

It is important for your insurance to be valid for an amateur event.

We recommend, for example, a bicycle accident and liability insurance from automobile clubs such as ÖAMTC, ARBÖ, ADAC,... as well as from various associations that cover this.

As the organisers, we do not accept any liability for accidents!

Can I book a room in advance?

Yes, you can book your room in advance.

Please note that if you leave the route, you must return to the route.

Organised chaperoning is not permitted!

Please read the rules carefully!

A small tip - private accommodation is flexible, especially with payment and key deposit!

How are checkpoints recorded?

There are virtual visible checkpoints that are recorded by GPS trackers. These checkpoints will be visible to everyone on our official RACA tracking page powered by Follow my Challenge.

However, there will also be invisible checkpoints for the race organisers to ensure sporting fairness. Shortening of the course will be reported to the organisers and penalties will be imposed.

See the catalogue of penalties in the regulations.

Are there inspectors/officials on the track?

Yes, there are visible, but there are also invisible inspectors/officials who ensure fair play.

They have the authority to monitor and penalise any breaches of the rules. See Rules.

What is a RACA Gate Card?

Each route is always divided into Gates.

Gate 1 / Gate 2 / Gate 3 / FINISH

The RACA Gate Card is an analogue card that you must stamp and sign at the gates (BaseCamps) and make sure your time is recorded. You will get the last stamp at the finish.

Stamps are important! The RACA can only be scored at the end with a complete stamp card.

When will the GPX data for the route be published?

The exact GPX data for each route will be emailed to all participants at least 4 weeks before each event.

Are the specified routes all asphalted?

Yes, 99.9% of the routes are asphalted. Unlike the supported routes, ours are mainly on low traffic roads, highways and well-maintained cycle paths. There are no main roads or highways. The safety of our participants is very important to us!

Is the route marked?

No, the route will not be marked. Each participant follows the exact GPX route with their navigation system.

What is the RACA Minute Start?

All our competitors start individually every minute from our small starting stage into the RACA adventure.

Exact start times will be announced 3 weeks before each event.

and his team could not get it out of their heads.
